What is a Root Canal? Who performs endodontic treatment? What is an "endodontist"? Why is there a need for endodontic treatment? What are the signs of needing endodontic treatment? What is endodontic surgery? Will I feel pain during or after the procedure? How can the tooth hurt if the nerve is gone? How much will the procedure cost?

Will the tooth need any special care or additional treatment? What can I eat, and when? What causes an endodontically treated tooth to need additional treatment? How does endodontic treatment save the tooth? Am I finished? Will I need a crown? What should I do in the case of a dental emergency?

*Will I need a crown?

We recommend crowns on all back teeth due to the chance of fracturing the tooth during chewing. You will need to return to your regular dentist for placement of the crown. If a crown is present on the tooth, it may not be necessary to replace it with a new one.
